All about me!

Me with the birthday girl
Thank you so much for stopping by Tarheel Tea! I’m Amy. I’m in my late thirties, married almost 15 years, and mother of two wonderful children; my son is 7 and my daughter is 2. I am a proud resident of the great state of North Carolina! I’ve lived here this time since 1996 when I moved here to attend graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. I loved it so much that we’ve stayed here ever since, and both my children are native Tarheels. I’m not a Tarheel born and bred, but I’m a Southerner: born in Lexington, Kentucky; moved to North Carolina before my first birthday and to Virginia right after my sixth. There I was raised, and went off to Auburn University to study social work at age 17….War Eagle! I graduated and married there in Alabama, and after a brief stay in wonderful Jackson, Mississippi, it was time to resume my Tarheel adventures. After a wonderful career in medical social work, I left to stay home with my son in 2002 and have enjoyed almost every minute since. I love being with my family, reading, gardening, sewing, being outdoors, knitting, baking, cooking, shopping, spending time with friends, and of course, writing. Thanks for being interested in my life! Please leave comments, ask questions, or share your opinion!
